When people hear the word "treatment center" or "long term treatment", a lot of different assumptions arise. Usually, those assumptions go one of two ways- thinking that all of the time there is spent messing around, or, thinking that it's a constant hospital-like setting. However, my experience away was neither of these things. The twenty photos included in "Utah" were carefully chosen and organized to represent my experience in treatment (minus all the therapy and crying) in the best and most realistic way possible. Each of the people and places in these photos have their own unique personalities. I hope that sharing these photos and the stories that they encompass will help people realize that they really aren’t able to understand and see what other people go through until they ask, listen, and choose to be empathetic and understanding.
